Mobility First! - ASEF Cultural Mobility Initiative 2019

Biennale Jogja Foundation aims to look further towards the future, to open up new perspectives and develop confrontations that engages conventions and the establishment by examining similar situations all over the world. The Foundation’s work includes biennale, exhibitions, symposiums, discussions, and publication, among others. The Biennale Equator has worked with India, Arab region, Nigeria, Brazil and is now working with South East Asia.

The workshop the participants will be attending is organised by Arisan Tenggara, a cooperation platform for artist collectives in Southeast Asia to discuss best practices amongst collectives in the region. Arisan Tenggara was initiated by Ace House Collective, that later on collaboratively worked with Lifepatch, Ruang Gulma, Krack Studio, Ruang Mes 56 and Survive!Garage. This year, the workshop is organised by the Jogja Biennale.

Through Mobility First!, ASEF is supporting the mobility of 4 Asian artists and cultural professionals to attend the Arisan Tenggara Workshop, which will take place from 25 September to 25 October 2019 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
