ASEF Public Diplomacy Training

Established in 2013, the ASEF Public Diplomacy Training was initially set up through a joint collaboration between the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), the DiploFoundation of Switzerland, and the National Centre for Research on Europe (NCRE) of New Zealand. Today, ASEF takes the lead in the Training and collaborates closely with the DiploFoundation of Switzerland to create the Online Training. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland constitutes the main sponsor. Over the years, ASEF has partnered with Asian and European diplomatic academies for the delivery of the Face-to-face component on the Training.

The Initiative aims at improving the relations between Asia and Europe by enhancing public diplomacy efforts among the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Partners. It provides practical skills-oriented training with toolkits and training modules designed by public diplomacy experts and practitioners as well as senior diplomats.

The Initiative is supported by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
