Representatives of six key organisations, identified as core partners for the Network through a consultation process, attended the first Partners’ Meeting. This served as an opportunity to present ASEF’s initial work in public health and to discuss preliminary ideas for the Network’s framework. It also aimed at consolidating the Network and ensuring consensus on the directions to take.
Participants at the meeting agreed on the overall and specific objectives for the Network as well as specific themes for the Network’s activities.
This meeting was followed by the first Steering Committee Meeting in November 2009, which was held back-to-back with ASEAN Plus Three Emerging Infectious Diseases Programme Coordination Group Meeting.
