This instalment of the Asia-Europe Lecture Tour series addressed the issue of citizens' access to justice as a prerequisite for the proper functioning of a democratic society. Participants were given an insight to the Central European experience of democratisation processes after the end of the Cold War.
The tour kicked off with an ASEF panel at the 3rd Asian Political and International Studies Association (APISA) International Congress in Delhi. Following which, speaker Pavol Zilincik addressed the following themes in his lectures:
- Access to justice and law
- Access to justice and the attorney
- Access to justice and the citizen
This was the first time the ASEF had organised an event in India and Laos, and links were established with the host institutions in these countries.
Mr. Pavol Zilincik, Executive Director, VIA URIS, Slovak Republic.
