At this lecture, speaker Albrecht Rothacher offered insights into the EU's enlargement towards Eastern Europe, which was one of the highest priority agenda items within the EU at the time. He drew from his experience working at the European Commission, where he was involved in the EU's enlargement negotiations with Eastern European states. The lecture was attended by diplomats, academics, and journalists.
