The Model ASEM 2009 was held for international high school students with a strong interest in the political, economic, and social relations between Asia and Europe. The theme of the conference was "Europe And Asia: Where Will They Meet?" with a focus on environmental sustainability. Ninety students were invited to attend the programme.?
- Political Pillar: How should we deal with security issues linked to natural resource distribution, disparities and shortages?
- Economic Pillar: How can green technologies contribute to economic growth and help fulfil the global right to development?
- Cultural Pillar: How can we find a harmony between tradition and modernisation in a globalising world?
