OVERVIEW

This training session brought together 28 representatives of youth organisations in 22 ASEM countries to develop skills and exchange best practices on intercultural learning. Participants attended workshops on the following topics:

- Culture and cultural diversity

- Stereotypes and prejudices

- Multicultural teamwork

- Dealing with culture shock

- Intercultural learning

- Networking in the Asia-Europe youth volunteering context

Participants also visited Intramuros, where Philippine culture was showcased, and the Malacañang, the Presidential Palace of the Philippines, where the group was given the chance to pay a courtesy visit to Eduardo Ermita, the Executive Secretary of the Philippines. At the event's closing ceremony, Senator Edgardo J. Angara honoured the event with his participation and an inspiring speech.
