This meeting saw over 50 young parliamentarians from more than 25 ASEM countries and the European Parliament gathering in The Hague to exchange views on the theme, “Towards An Asia-Europe Partnership." Participants discussed the shifting paradigms in Asia-Europe relations and were challenged to change perceptions and gain new perspectives. The event also had the aim of going beyond dialogue towards deliverable goals applicable in a national and regional setting -- not only were issues of importance to Asia and Europe debated, but the outcomes were translated into actual steps towards a closer Asian-European partnership.
