OVERVIEW

This meeting was attended by 30 young independent film directors, producers, film festivals organisers, distributors, and cinema professionals. It was initiated by Amable "Tikoy" Aguiluz (filmmaker and Festival Director, Cinemanila) to promote a better understanding of filmmaking and distribution industries in Asia and Europe through the exchange of ideas, experiences, and networking.

Through the discussions, SEA-Images (Synergy of Europe-Asia Images) was launched to consider and implement initiatives that foster collaboration between Asia and Europe, in terms of film production, promotion, and distribution. A permanent secretariat was also created for SEA-Images under the auspices of the Cinemanila International Film Festival.
