The ASEF flagship programme, the Asia-Europe Museum Network (ASEMUS), is featured in The Straits Times Life! Section on 1 July 2010 under the report which highlights the exhibition, “A Passage to Asia”, which has just opened in Brussels. This exhibition includes treasures from the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore on loan to Belgium to mark the Asia-Europe Summit meeting, which will be held in Brussels on 4-5 Oct 2010.

The exhibition occupies 10 big halls at the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels (BOZAR). It throws lights on 25 centuries of trade, religious and cultural exchange between Asia and Europe. It is an ambitious show that is jointly curated by Dr Jan Van Alphen and Dr Kenson Kwok.

"[Dr Van Alphen] and Dr Kwok are both contributors to the Asia-Europe Museum Network, a 10-year-old association that promotes dialogue and cooperation between heritage bodies.  And he said the large-scale collaborative exhibition owes much to the relationships forged within the museum network."
